Job summary

Fives HPM is seeking a CNC Retrofit Engineer to lead design, integration, programming, startup, and commissioning of CNC machine tool retrofit and modernization projects. You will work across the United States with customers on complex equipment upgrades and expand your technical expertise.

This highly technical role requires hands-on experience with FANUC or Siemens controls, PLC/ladder logic, electrical systems, and AutoCAD, with approximately 90% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in machine tools/CNC/automation environments.
• Hands-on experience with FANUC and/or Siemens CNC controls.
• Experience specifying CNC controls, servos, spindles and drives.
• Experience designing electrical systems and AutoCAD drawings.
• Experience with PLC/PMC ladder logic and machine sequences.

Responsibilities

• Lead CNC retrofit and modernization projects from proposal to customer acceptance.
• Design and integrate FANUC and/or Siemens CNC control systems.
• Specify CNC controls, servo motors, drives, and electrical components.
• Develop PLC/PMC ladder logic, CNC parameters, macros, and functions.
• Create electrical schematics using AutoCAD and power up machines.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities and mentor engineers.
