As a Retirement Technician Trainee within the Bureau of Benefits Administration (BBA), you will learn to gather, review, analyze, update, and adjust monetary and non-monetary member account and employer reported data in a member's account to eliminate data errors or inconsistencies associated with estimates, benefit calculations, statements of accounts, purchases, and breakdowns of accounts, upon request. Data verification may also result in a receivable or credit in the employer's account and is used as input in determining actuarial rates for the agency. You will be trained to understand, interpret, and apply the provisions of the Retirement Code, rules, regulations, PSERS legal opinions, business rules, and procedures as they relate to member account and employer reported data, benefit eligibility, and determination.
Within BBA, you are afforded the opportunity to work in one of the following business areas: Account Verification, Death Benefits, Refunds, Account Maintenance, Disability, Retirements and Participant Account Review.
