The QTI Group is excited to partner with a Madison-based investment firm to hire their next Retirement Plan Client Relationship Manager. This role will manage a portfolio of retirement plan clients, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for plan sponsors. The individual will coordinate with recordkeepers, third-party administrators (TPAs), payroll providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional client service and effective retirement plan operations.
This is a highly client-facing role requiring strong project management skills, retirement plan expertise, and the ability to oversee multiple ongoing initiatives across a diverse client base.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned retirement plan sponsor clients.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with plan sponsors, HR leaders, and retirement plan vendors.
- Coordinate and manage retirement plan activities involving recordkeepers, TPAs, payroll providers, and custodians.
- Oversee multiple annual plan events, deadlines, and service initiatives across a portfolio of retirement plans.
- Assist clients with plan administration, operational questions, and compliance-related matters.
- Troubleshoot issues related to eligibility, contributions, distributions, loans, hardship withdrawals, and participant accounts.
- Support retirement plan conversions, vendor transitions, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Prepare and facilitate fiduciary review meetings, investment reviews, and fee benchmarking discussions.
- Conduct participant education meetings, enrollment sessions, and retirement readiness presentations.
- Track projects, service requests, and action items while maintaining accurate client records and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve client experience, plan effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3-5+ years of experience in retirement plan consulting, administration, recordkeeping, TPA services, financial advisory services, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of 401(k) and other qualified retirement plans.
- Understanding of retirement plan design, administration, and compliance requirements.
- Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
- Excellent project management, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a TPA, retirement plan consulting firm, RIA, bank, credit union, or financial services organization supporting employer-sponsored retirement plans.
- Knowledge of ERISA fiduciary responsibilities and retirement plan governance.
- Experience with fee benchmarking and investment review processes.
