Job summary

Voya Financial, Inc. is seeking a Client Relationship Manager to deliver a service strategy for defined contribution plans, building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and guiding retirement plan strategy.

Based in the Southeast, the CRM will travel 25–40% and lead cross-functional teams to optimize client outcomes and retention, while negotiating contracts and expanding opportunities across retirement solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in client service relationship management for defined contribution plans.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent retirement services work experience.
• FINRA Series 6 or 7 and Series 63 licensing.
• Retirement industry experience.
• Strong understanding of tax-exempt retirement plans, along with a solid investment background.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 25–40% of the time nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Build trust-based relationships with key client stakeholders, including senior executives, Treasury, Human Resources, Benefits, advisors, and TPAs.
• Attend Plan Investment and Administrative Committee meetings, as appropriate.
• Analyze plan data and industry trends to develop strategic recommendations related to plan design, products, investments, and participant engagement.
• Lead cross-functional service teams in executing client strategies and reporting effectiveness against agreed-upon metrics.
• Drive client retention efforts and manage RFIs, RFPs, and benchmarking exercises for existing clients.
• Lead contract negotiations, including pricing strategy, contract preparation and execution, and appropriate Service Level Agreements.
• Use consultative engagement to understand clients’ labor and benefits strategies and align solutions to their needs.
• Partner with internal teams to establish implementation dates, define project scope and requirements, negotiate client project costs, and manage expectations regarding delivery timelines.
• Identify opportunities for organic growth and cross-sale of Voya products and solutions, working across the organization to develop, position, close, and implement appropriate solutions.
• Contribute to RFP responses and participate in the sales process for new Retirement business.
• Maintain a strong understanding of Voya’s offerings and present solutions to prospective clients in a way that clearly communicates Voya’s differentiated value proposition.
