Job summary

Discover Vision Centers is seeking Retina Technicians to join our Kansas City area team. You will perform retina-related testing and assist physicians with procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and smooth patient flow.

We provide hands-on training, ongoing education, and opportunities for certification advancement in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong computer and EMR skills.
• Previous ophthalmology or related healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
• COA/COT certification preferred; candidates with less experience considered if otherwise qualified.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient workups, including medical history, vision assessment, and intraocular pressure checks.
• Accurately scribe for physicians and maintain documentation in EMR systems.
• Conduct diagnostic testing such as OCT, visual fields, lensometry, and angiography.
• Assist with retina-specific procedures, including intravitreal injections, lasers, and minor in-office procedures.
• Support physicians and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and service quality.
