Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York (VRMNY) seeks a Billing Manager to lead the revenue cycle for a high-volume retina practice across NYC locations.

The role requires deep ophthalmology billing knowledge, Medicare expertise, and strong analytics to drive revenue, optimize processes, and ensure HIPAA compliance. In-person work is required with a focus on growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of medical billing experience in ophthalmology/retina.
• Strong Medicare billing knowledge and reimbursement methods.
• Retina-specific coding, including injections and imaging.
• Experience managing multi-site billing operations.
• Analytical reporting, data interpretation and forecasting.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and practice management systems.
• Leadership and effective communication in a fast-paced env.

Responsibilities

• Lead billing, AR, and collections across multiple locations.
• Oversee charge capture, coding accuracy, submissions, posting, denials, appeals.
• Manage drug AR and retina injectables crediting reimbursement.
• Oversee retina inventory related to billing and purchasing.
• Handle credentialing/re-credentialing with payers and Medicare/Medicaid.
• Monitor AR aging and drive action plans to reduce balances.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs for leadership with forecasting.
• Analyze denials and payer trends to maximize revenue.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and retina-specific coding.
• Collaborate with clinical/administrative leadership to streamline workflows.
• Train and mentor billing staff; set performance standards.
