Job summary

Medix is seeking a Revenue Cycle Billing Specialist to resolve outstanding A/R for partner practices, with a focus on ophthalmology retina injections. You will correct billing errors, refile claims, appeal denials, and post payments, collaborating with practice staff and RCM leaders.

This remote role requires strong knowledge of commercial and government insurance, accurate data entry, and proficiency with EHR/PM systems (NextGen, Nextech, Tableau).

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in medical A/R follow-up.
• Billing/coding certification is preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proven ability to navigate practice EHR/PM systems and RCM data tools (NextGen, Nextech, Tableau, or Viewgol is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Claims & AR Management: Ensure accurate claim submission, verify patient information, follow up on unpaid claims, and resolve provider discrepancies to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Denials & Appeals: Identify, resolve, and resubmit denied claims by collaborating directly with insurance companies.
• Payment Posting: Post and reconcile insurance and patient payments to maintain accurate account balances; communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
• Process Improvement: Compile, analyze, and report on RCM performance data and trends while implementing continuous process improvements aligned with organizational best practices.
• Relationship & Compliance Management: Maintain positive relationships with practice staff, physicians, vendors, and insurance representatives while strictly complying with all government and third-party payer regulations.
