Cal Poly San Luis Obispo seeks a Retention Specialist to develop and evaluate comprehensive advising-based retention efforts across colleges, focusing on increasing retention and graduation while closing equity gaps.

Under the supervision of university leadership, this role will use data-driven methods to engage students, provide advising on policies and resources, and implement scalable interventions to support student success across campus.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field plus applicable advanced coursework.
• Three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; a Doctorate may substitute for more experience where applicable.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive advising-based retention efforts within assigned colleges and centralized measures.
• Develop data-informed retention interventions that can be scaled across colleges.
• Provide comprehensive advising to selected students on policies, resources, and graduation requirements; including one-on-one advising and group sessions.
