Job summary

Synerfac Inc in Raleigh is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join a specialized team that designs retaining wall systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You will contribute from early estimating through final certification, collaborating with structural, geotechnical, and construction teams in a hybrid, locally focused role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• PE license or on track to obtain within 6 months.
• 3+ years civil/structural design experience with 2–3+ years in retaining walls.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and grading plan interpretation.
• Experience reading geotechnical reports and site plans.

Responsibilities

• Design retaining walls and prepare related calculations, specs, and drawings.
• Review project specs, submittals, and civil site plans from external engineers.
• Interpret grading plans to identify design requirements early.
• Support estimating by preparing cost estimates from plans.
• Use AutoCAD and VESPA MSE for design, analysis, and review.
• Coordinate with geotechnical consultants and other engineers.
• Complete wall certifications and closeout documentation.
