Job summary

Stonewall Structural Engineering, PLLC, located in Raleigh with offices in the region, seeks a Project Engineer to navigate structural challenges and grow technical judgment through hands-on experience. You will evaluate existing structures, investigate concerns, and develop repair designs while collaborating with owners, contractors, architects, and property managers.

You will travel to project sites and client locations, with regular site visits and a strong emphasis on field work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering Technology degree in Structural/Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program
• Minimum 2 years of related experience
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building codes, journals, procedures, and regulations
• Ability to write reports and other business correspondence
• Ability to present information to groups of managers, clients, and the public
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Familiarity with architectural/engineering drawings and standard industry practices

Responsibilities

• Perform structural investigation work on wood, concrete, masonry, and steel structures
• Provide real-time consultation with clients
• Support projects by analyzing proposed construction alternatives and RFIs
• Aid in developing consulting fee proposals, project scopes, and schedules
• Improve design materials, spreadsheets, and standard language to boost team productivity
• Provide technical guidance to other team members
• Demonstrate strong time and project management to meet client expectations
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
