Job summary

Dollar General in Mishawaka, IN seeks an Assistant Team Leader to help run daily store operations and lead a frontline team. You will support the Store Team Leader, supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and handle deposits and cash control with vigilance to protect assets.

You will also assist with training, safety meetings, and customer service excellence while ensuring a clean, well-organized shopping environment and accurate inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a specialty retail environment preferred.
• Six months supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to exceed the customer's expectations; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Assists the Store Team Leader in creating and supporting a customer first store culture.
• Model product knowledge and selling techniques to enhance the customer experience; maintain a safe, clean store environment.
• Facilitates merchandising the store to appeal to customers and drive sales.
• Rotate product to create eye-catching displays according to guidelines.
• Train and schedule employees and conduct safety meetings.
• Maintain cleaning checklists and ensure cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist with inventory, plan-o-zones, and deposits.
