Job summary

Land Of Lincoln Goodwill Industries – Bloomington Normal Store, Normal, IL, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to work with the Store Manager in running all store operations, including donations, processing, sales, and staff management. The role is developmental with a clear path to a Store Manager position.

You will supervise employees and volunteers, promote the organization’s mission and diversity, manage time, assist with budgeting, and ensure safety and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of retail experience with at least 1 year supervising others
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and POS software
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; proof of insurance and reliable transportation
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment
• DSP training or ability to complete within one year (for locations with service participants)
• Confidentiality of LLGI operations, financial, and personnel matters
• Demonstrates sensitivity and communication with a diverse population; promotes diversity and inclusion

Responsibilities

• Oversee store operations in the Store Manager’s absence
• Direct activities of store employees and volunteers to ensure sales transactions and donated goods are processed and reported accurately
• Communicate the organization’s mission, vision, and values and promote diversity
• Train, coach, and provide feedback to help staff strengthen and develop skills
• Ensure store staff follows policies and procedures
• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, documenting, and communicating staff performance and behavioral issues
