Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across various departments.
• Serve as a mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implement strategies to enhance customer service, increase store sales, and ensure customer needs are met efficiently.
• Maintain store appearance, focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and adherence to company standards.
• Ensure a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient service.
• Handle staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by providing career development opportunities and participating in promotion decisions.
• Manage disciplinary actions and make recommendations regarding terminations.
• Oversee P&L, achieve sales targets, and control department shrinkage.
• Model exceptional customer service and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet and exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team is fully trained and has completed all required training.
• Spend most of the time within the store engaging with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of relevant retail experience.
• At least one year of management experience.
• Experience in various store areas such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, and customer service.
• Strong communication skills for clear and effective direction.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical data for decision-making.
• Ability to mentor team members across all levels.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.
