Job summary

Dollar General in Parma, OH seeks an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, customer-first store. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, deposits, and store operations to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

You will help schedule staff, train employees, manage inventory, and ensure planograms and cash controls are followed. The role supports the Store Manager and may require occasional bank visits and driving to other stores.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, diagrams, and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise is presented per standards.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
