Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Hastings, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with day-to-day activities, merchandise handling, and maintaining seasonal areas, while supporting the Store Manager in training staff and ensuring a safe environment.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as described.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to ensure effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms, floors, trash removal, and neat presentation.
