Job summary

Hibbett Retail, Inc. in Palm Springs, California is seeking an Assistant Manager to support Store Manager with day-to-day operations, customer service, merchandising, and store policies.

You will act in the Store Manager's absence and assist with scheduling, training, and supervising staff while ensuring inventory control and department profitability across the store. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a starting pay of $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in footwear/apparel preferred.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling store assets.
• Plan actions to accomplish selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Act as Store Manager in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating store personnel.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Maintain extraordinary customer service as per manuals.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
