Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Lenexa, Kansas to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and explain directives.
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions/concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures; assist in ordering merchandise and handling damaged goods.
• Record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts) and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom according to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; supervise and train store associates; foster a positive work environment.
• Ensure cleanliness of store, restrooms, floors, and general presentation.
• Support the Store Manager in supervision, training, and development of Store Associates.
