Job Summary

This position contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by leading a team to create and maintain the Sun Tan City Experience for our clients. The Salon Director manages the overall operation of the salon, including supervising staff, making staffing decisions, ensuring client satisfaction, monitoring staff performance, handling maintenance issues, ensuring cleanliness, and managing safety and security. The role requires modeling Sun Tan City principles to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and coach employees to provide excellent client experiences.
  • Follow up promptly on client concerns and issues.
  • Set a positive example and maintain a calm demeanor during busy times.
  • Prioritize client service and hold team members accountable.
  • Drive company metrics through action plans and motivate staff with company programs.
  • Promote the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City with integrity and honesty.
  • Delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
  • Manage staffing levels for employee development and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Use operational tools to achieve excellence, including labor guidelines, reports, cash, and inventory management.
  • Analyze financial reports to address performance trends.
  • Conduct performance assessments and set goals to improve sales.
  • Manage ongoing sales activities.
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including varying shifts as determined by supervisors.
Experience:
  • College education preferred but not required.
  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills with coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Team building and delegation skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to bend at the waist for cleaning and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and assist with heavy items.
  • Ability to bend to pick up items from the floor.
  • Ability to perform cleaning functions such as dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
