Job Summary

This position contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by leading a team to create and maintain the Sun Tan City Experience for our clients. The Salon Director is responsible for managing the overall operation of the salon, including supervising staff, making staffing decisions, ensuring client satisfaction, monitoring staff performance, handling maintenance issues, maintaining cleanliness, and managing safety and security. The role requires modeling Sun Tan City principles to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Developing and coaching employees to provide excellent client experiences.
• Addressing client concerns promptly.
• Setting a positive example and maintaining a calm demeanor during busy times.
• Ensuring a client-first attitude and holding team members accountable for service quality.
• Driving company metrics through action plans and implementing company programs.
• Promoting the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City with integrity and honesty.
• Delegating responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the salon.
• Managing staffing levels for employee development and operational needs.
• Adhering to wage and hour laws for non-exempt staff and minors.
• Using operational tools to achieve excellence, including labor guidelines, reports, cash, and inventory management.
• Analyzing financial reports to address performance trends and issues.
• Conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting goals to improve sales.
• Managing ongoing sales activities.
• Working a minimum of 40 hours per week, including varying shifts based on business needs.

Experience:

• College education preferred, but not required.
• Management and/or sales experience required.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong client service, operational, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and supervise.
• Team-building skills and ability to prioritize and delegate.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend at the waist for cleaning and maintenance.
• Ability to lift or assist in lifting heavy items.
• Ability to perform cleaning functions like dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
