Job Summary

This position contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by leading a team to create and maintain the Sun Tan City Experience for our clients. The Salon Director manages overall salon operations, supervises staff, ensures client satisfaction, maintains cleanliness, and manages safety and security. The role models and acts in accordance with Sun Tan City principles to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Developing and coaching employees to provide excellent client experiences.
  • Following up swiftly on client concerns.
  • Setting a positive example and maintaining calm during busy times.
  • Holding team members accountable for quality service.
  • Driving company metrics through action plans and motivating staff.
  • Promoting the culture, values, and mission of Sun Tan City.
  • Delegating responsibilities for smooth operations.
  • Ensuring salon cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and organization.
  • Managing staffing levels for employee development and operational needs.
  • Adhering to wage and hour laws.
  • Using operational tools to achieve excellence, including labor, reports, cash, and inventory management.
  • Utilizing financial reports to monitor performance trends.
  • Conducting performance assessments and setting sales goals.
  • Managing ongoing sales efforts.

The Salon Director works a minimum of 40 hours per week, including varying mid and/or closing shifts based on business needs.

Experience:

  • College education preferred but not required.
  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client service and operational knowledge.
  • Problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Leadership skills to coach and mentor staff.
  • Team building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to bend to clean equipment.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting heavy items.
  • Ability to bend to pick up items from the floor.
  • Ability to perform cleaning functions including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
