Retail Store Manager I

The pay range for this position is $17.81-$23.39

The State of New Hampshire, Liquor Commission has a vacancy for a Full-time Retail Store Manager I.

Summary

Provides exceptional customer service in a retail store environment by retrieving and compiling register receipts, maintaining product merchandising and inventory, and reporting sales results.

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service by building a loyal customer base. Strives for excellence when assisting customers to enhance customer relations and the reputation of NH Liquor Commission and the State of New Hampshire.
• Acts as a store manager in a low volume retail environment and supervises store personnel up to the Retail Store Clerk II level.
• In a large volume store, works under the supervision of a Retail Store Manager II and assists with managing daily store operations such as opening and closing, setting up displays, making deposits, and taking inventory.
• Provides training and guidance to store employees on the operation of state liquor stores.
• Maintains stock levels and anticipates sale items as necessary.
• Calculates sales transactions and handles bank deposits.
• Reviews computer printouts and makes recommendations to the Store Manager.
• Supervises store personnel and can fill in for a higher-level Store Manager when needed.
• May be assigned to work in other stores, requiring travel.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent. Additional education may substitute for work experience.

Experience: Three years in a role involving public contact and retail, with at least one year in a supervisory role.

License: Valid driver’s license for travel.

Special Requirements: Must be 18 or older, capable of lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and cases up to 60 pounds.
