Job Summary

The Salon Director contributes to Sun Tan City’s success by leading a team to create and maintain an exceptional client experience. Responsibilities include managing overall salon operations, supervising staff, making staffing decisions, ensuring client satisfaction, monitoring staff performance, handling maintenance issues, maintaining cleanliness, and managing safety and security. The role requires modeling Sun Tan City principles to deliver an outstanding client experience.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Developing and coaching employees for excellent client experiences.
  • Addressing client concerns promptly.
  • Setting a positive example and maintaining composure during busy times.
  • Ensuring a client-first attitude and holding team accountable for service quality.
  • Driving performance metrics through action plans and implementing company programs.
  • Promoting integrity, honesty, and aligning with company culture, values, and mission.
  • Delegating responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintaining salon cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
  • Managing staffing levels for employee development and operational needs.
  • Adhering to wage and hour laws.
  • Using operational tools for planning and achieving excellence, including labor guidelines, reports, cash, and inventory management.
  • Analyzing financial reports to identify trends and address performance issues.
  • Conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting goals.
  • Managing ongoing sales activities.
  • The role requires a minimum of 40 hours per week, including varying mid and/or closing shifts based on business needs.
Experience
  • College education preferred but not required.
  • Management and/or sales experience required.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client service knowledge and operational practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Leadership skills with coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Team building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to bend at the waist for cleaning.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting heavy items.
  • Ability to bend to pick up items from the floor.
  • Ability to perform cleaning functions such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
