Job summary

Hog Slat Inc. in Rock Rapids, IA is seeking a Retail Store Manager with hog farming industry experience and strong customer service skills to lead our local store operations and drive sales of equipment and replacement parts.

You will oversee day-to-day store activities, manage a team, coordinate shipments, and develop promotions while maintaining excellent relationships with customers and vendors. Prior experience in farming operations is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of farming industry strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of parts and equipment used in hog operations preferred.
• Previous customer service experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs and obtain forklift certification.
• Valid driver's license required; ability to learn inventory management software (ERP).
• Minimum 1 year in a modern hog farming operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of a retail store specializing in equipment and replacement parts.
• Analyze the local market to determine potential customer leads.
• Direct turnkey building projects to area turnkey sales people.
• Maintain current customer base by providing superb service.
• Assist with daily sales functions like counter sales and phone orders.
• Organize shipments of merchandise to customers and other locations.
• Develop and carry-out product launches and promotions for the retail store.
• Manage and train store employees to ensure productive team members.
• Take advantage of training opportunities offered by the Company and vendors.
• Continually upgrade industry knowledge.
