Job summary

Citi Trends is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Baton Rouge to support daily store operations, lead a team, and assist with hiring and onboarding. You will drive sales performance, ensure customer experience and loss prevention standards, and participate in staffing, coaching, and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer experience standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and standards.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Assist the Store Manager with hiring, screening, onboarding, and training.
• Help maintain appropriate staffing levels by supporting recruiting and retention.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to associates.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and customer-focused store environment.
• Reinforce merchandising, operational, and visual standards.
• Perform additional duties to support store operations and business needs.
