Job summary

Houchens Food Group in Kentucky is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations in the manager's absence, drive sales, ensure optimal stocking and merchandising, and deliver Amaze Every Customer Every Time.

You will lead staff development, manage merchandising updates, plan scheduling, monitor payroll, and partner with vendors to execute marketing and visual plans while upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• Strong communication and coaching skills to develop staff.
• Ability to analyze store performance and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and develop store staff with goals for growth and success.
• Review store evaluations with management to identify opportunities with urgency.
• Coordinate supervision of staff to meet sales goals and procedures.
• Delegate workload to meet merchandising and visual standards.
• Participate in associate evaluations with feedback, praise and growth.
• Complete merchandising updates according to Houchens Ace Hardware standards.
• Forecast scheduling needs and monitor payroll within budgets.
• Develop and implement an in-store marketing strategy and seasonal merchandising.
• Enforce safety procedures and maintain a clean, inviting store environment.
