Summary

This position is responsible for conducting thorough audits of convenience store operations, inventory accuracy, and compliance standards across assigned locations. The Retail Store Auditor identifies discrepancies and delivers accurate reporting to support store managers and leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

Job Duties

• Performs full physical inventory counts and verifies stock accuracy, including high-shrink items like tobacco, and alcohol.
• Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
• Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/district coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Previous experience in inventory auditing, retail management, loss prevention, or a cash-handling environment is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation to travel between assigned retail locations.

Travel Requirement

Frequent travel (up to 75–90%) within assigned district or geographic area to conduct store site visits.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to direct supervisor.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Computer Skills

Proficient with inventory counting devices, hand-held scanners, and mobile audit software. Has the skills necessary to operate a computer, navigate software applications, build spreadsheet logs, and submit digital audit databases.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply logical understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to analyze complex inventory patterns, identify root causes of financial loss, and solve concrete variables in standardized situations.

Mobility & Strength: Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces (concrete and tile) for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift, excluding scheduled breaks).

Lifting & Carrying: Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing beverage 30–50 lbs. (e.g., cases of cases, bags of ice, propane tanks, and stock boxes).

Reaching & Bending: Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead to stock low or high shelves, clean equipment, and load outdoor displays.

Ability to walk on uneven pavement.

Manual Dexterity & Stamina: Repetitive Hand Movements: Fine motor skills required to operate cash registers and POS systems, scrape ice, pump fuel, and wipe down counters.

Continuous Movement: Ability to transition quickly between indoor cash register duties and outdoor forecourt maintenance.

Repetitive hand gripping (for fuel nozzles)

Environmental Elements: Weather Exposure: Exposure to variable outdoor weather conditions for extended periods, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow, while maintaining the pump areas.

Chemical & Odor Exposure: Ability to safely work around gasoline fumes, oil, automotive fluids, and standard commercial cleaning chemicals.

Safety Equipment: Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as high-visibility vests, safety glasses, or gloves when necessary.
