Job summary

IKEA in Texas is seeking a Retail Store Associate to float between departments, delivering a great shopping experience and assisting customers with their needs. You will keep shelves stocked, learn product features, and support food service and merchandising activities in a dynamic store environment.

The role requires availability to work 34–40 hours per week, including nights and weekends, with an hourly pay range noted. We offer full-time benefits and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the home furnishing sector.
• Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs.

Responsibilities

• Actively approach customers requiring additional help, identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their homes.
• Keep area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked.
• Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits, sharing this knowledge with customers to help them make informed choices.
• Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels.
• Prepare, produce, and maintain IKEA Food menu items; serve all IKEA Food menu items; follow procedures and guidelines for safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation, and workplace safety.
• Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at the point of receiving.
• Flow product to final selling location.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide customers with a simple and efficient Full Serve Hand Out experience.
• Provide the customer with a simple and smooth returns and exchange experience.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Retail Store Associate, floating between various departments, contributing to a successful shopping experience, you will:

JOB TYPE: Permanent - Full-Time (benefits eligible)

HOURS: 34-40 hrs/week (FT) - limited openings for each

SHIFT: Retail Environment; must be able to work nights & weekends.

The pay range for this role is $18.50 to $23.59
