Job description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Store associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend the right solutions. Store associates are also expected to promptly resolve any customer concerns and ensure maximum client satisfaction, while staying up-to-date with product features and maintaining high quality and visual standards of the products and store.

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at stores within an 8-mile radius of Store #3139, located at 1730 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703.

This is a part-time position with a starting pay rate of $16/hr.

Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors; access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. To protect the business, its operations, and reputation, a review of criminal history is necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Legally authorized to work without sponsorship
• Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
• Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. on occasion
• Willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• At least one year experience in retail or customer service
• Experience selling paint and related products
• Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
• Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish
