Job description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Store associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend solutions. They are also expected to resolve customer concerns promptly, ensure maximum client satisfaction, stay updated on product features, and maintain high quality and visual standards of the products and store. The role involves achieving excellent customer service while meeting sales goals.

Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. The company conducts criminal history reviews to protect its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

The selected individual will work at Store #3083, located at 5338 159th Street, Oak Forest, IL 60452. The store is part of a POD of stores, and the candidate may be asked to help with coverage at nearby locations: Oak Lawn Store 3705, Palos Heights Store 3135, Burbank/Justice Store 3533, and Alsip Store 3948.
This is a Part-Time role
Pay starts at $16.40 per hour

• Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent sales service


• Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting products and services


• Build trust relationships with wholesale and retail customers


• Process sales transactions accurately and according to policies


• Meet sales goals monthly, quarterly, and yearly


• Maintain work order files and formulas


• Pull products from the sales floor or warehouse


• Tint and mix products to customer specifications


• Stock shelves and set up displays


• Clean store equipment


• Load and unload delivery trucks


• Assist with deliveries as needed


• Keep areas in-stock and presentable


• Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options


• Follow inventory control procedures


• Suggest ways to improve sales

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old


• Legally authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future


• Valid, unrestricted Driver's License


• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally, with or without accommodation


• Willing to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED


• At least 1 year experience in delivery, retail, or customer service


• Experience selling paint and related products


• Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment


• Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish
