Job summary

Safariland Group is seeking a store associate for our Buffalo, NY location. You will deliver high level customer service, assist with in-person, phone and email inquiries, and manage all retail transactions including cash, card and on-account purchases.

You will gain product knowledge across uniforms, firearms and protective gear and maintain a clean, safe showroom. Key responsibilities include handling firearms paperwork, assisting with inventory, and participating in training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with sales of uniforms, firearms, and ammunition in person, by phone or email.
• Complete required sales paperwork and firearms registration documents.
• Ensure accuracy in all retail transactions including cash, card, and on-account purchases.
• Provide prompt, courteous customer service in person and over the phone.
• Research product information and communicate to help customers choose.
• Assist with inventory placement, organization, and counting.
• Develop product knowledge on existing and new lines; attend trainings.
• Report problems to Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Merchandise and organize products on the sales floor; maintain showroom cleanliness.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

Provide a high level of customer service and interact with customers. Assist customers in person, over the phone and via email. Handle all retail transactions including cash, credit card, check and on-account purchases. Have a positive attitude and demeanor and are expected to develop a working knowledge of the products that they sell. Provide prompt service to customers and to return phone calls and emails in a timely fashion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist customers with all types of sales including, but not limited to uniforms, firearms, and ammunition in person, over the phone and via email
• Complete required sales paperwork and registration documents for firearms sales
• Accountability in all retail transactions including cash, credit card, and on-account purchases
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service in person and over the phone
• Research information on products or orders for customers and provide communication to assist them in making the best product choice
• Assist with inventory placement, organization, and counting
• Continually develop comprehensive product knowledge on existing and new product lines
• Attend organizational or training meetings
• Report problems or issues to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager
• Merchandise and organize products on the sales floor
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized retail showroom
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY & OPERATIONAL AUTHORITY

• Reports directly to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
• Given business requirements, and in the absence of a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, may have operational control of store for short periods of time

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of one (1) year related experience
• Sales experience includes handling or selling of firearms or tactical/protective law enforcement or emergency gear
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
