Job description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Store associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend the right solutions. Store associates are also expected to promptly resolve any customer concerns and ensure maximum client satisfaction, as well as stay up-to-date with product features and maintain the high quality and visual standards of the products and store.

Store associates are tasked with achieving excellent customer service while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.

The individual selected for this role will be expected to work at stores within a 25-mile radius of Store #1234, located at 1411 James Ave, Bedford, IN 47421.

This is a part-time position with a starting pay rate of $15/hr.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value. Such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company requires a review of criminal history to protect its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship now or in the future.
  3. Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
  4. Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  5. Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or GED.
  2. At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
  3. Experience selling paint and related products.
  4. Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment.
  5. Ability to communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services.
  • Build trust relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Process sales transactions accurately according to policies and procedures.
  • Meet sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Maintain accurate work order files and formulas.
  • Pull products from the sales floor or warehouse as needed.
  • Tint and mix products to customer specifications.
  • Stock shelves and set up displays.
  • Clean store equipment.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks.
  • Assist in making deliveries as needed.
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable conditions in assigned areas.
  • Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options with customers.
  • Follow inventory control procedures.
  • Suggest ways to improve sales.
