Qualifications

• Previous supervisory, team lead, or assistant manager experience in a retail, branch, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
• Experience with inventory management, cycle counts, receiving, shipping, or warehouse management systems preferred.
• Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Branch Manager in enforcing daily safety protocols.
• Audit outbound orders and ensure OTIF compliance.
• Ensure accurate bin moves and daily inventory counts.
• Meet or exceed monthly walk-in revenue targets.

Job Purpose / Summary:

The Retail Store Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing, managing, and coordinating the day-to-day operations within a best-in-class industrial supply retail store. Reporting to the Store Manager, they will proactively assist in the operation of the retail branch with product sales to exertional customers, product and customer demo/training, supervision of retail branch staff where needed, receiving/shipping/storage of in-store merchandise, and the cleanliness and upkeep of the retail branch location.

The Retail Store Assistant Manager will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

• Safety
  • Assist Branch Manager in monitoring and enforcing daily security and safety protocols.
  • Daily safety walks with Branch Manager to address any safety concerns.
  • Manage Material Handling Inspection Sheet compliance.
• Accuracy
  • Audit outbound orders for accuracy prior to shipping.
  • Audit orders for ship-to location accuracy.
  • On-Time-In-Full - Ensure all OTIF service levels are met for the Branch Location.
  • Bin level inventory - Ensure systematic Bin Moves match Physical Bin Moves within the Branch Location.
  • Inventory Accuracy - Ensure daily cycle count compliance is met and maintain accurate retail store inventory through regular cycle counts and complete inventory counts.
• Productivity
  • Walk-In Revenue - Meet or exceed monthly revenue targets.
  • Operational Excellence - Correctly receive, put away, pick, pack, and ship product.
  • Help ensure the Branch Location is clean, well-organized, and creates a best-in-class customer experience.
• Collaborate with the Branch Manager and outside sales team, using previous industry knowledge to improve the retail sales experience and overall customer satisfaction through strong product and industry knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must have the following:

• Minimum of five years of experience in retail, industrial supply, distribution, or related industry.
• Experience using a computer and business systems to complete daily tasks.
• Strong verbal communication skills required for customer and associate relations.
• Ability to develop relationships and work closely at all levels of an organization from seasonal hourly employees to senior leaders.
• Previous supervisory, team lead, or assistant manager experience in a retail, branch, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer experience in a retail, branch, or service environment.
• Experience with inventory management, cycle counts, receiving, shipping, or warehouse management systems preferred.
• Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Travel Required:

• 0-10% Travel

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:

• High-SKU, diverse Branch Location operations encompass small individual items through large material handling equipment.
• Familiarity with Material Handling equipment. Certification preferred or ability to become certified within first 30 days of employment.
• Utilize a computer and other tools to monitor productivity and operations.
• Lift, push, pull, and grasp up to 48 pounds while standing or kneeling.
