Job description

Position Purpose: The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in achieving and exceeding the store’s sales plan while ensuring profitable operations and superior customer service. The role includes managing resources such as personnel, merchandise, cash, budgets, and facilities, and assumes supervisory responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in meeting weekly, monthly, and annual sales budgets and contributing to overall company achievement.
• Demonstrate Lindt standards and core competencies in daily activities.
• Communicate the store’s sales mission and metrics to staff in actionable terms.
• Motivate staff, build brand commitment, and hold staff accountable for internal KPIs and external sales opportunities.
• Identify and pursue external sales opportunities, including business‑to‑business contacts and marketing events.
• Manage inventory levels to align with sales demand and quality guidelines, minimizing out‑of‑stocks and overstocks.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing store personnel in accordance with Lindt &Sprüngli guidelines.
• Escalate issues to the Store Manager and Retail District Manager promptly.
• Ensure compliance with operational controls, inventory/shrink, cash management, audit requirements, payroll/labor management, and expense control.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven sales experience and sales background.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience, preferably in specialty retail.
• Basic math and accounting skills.
• 1+ year of prior retail management experience, preferably in a premium specialty environment.

Skills & Knowledge

• Understanding of outreach and corporate selling programs (a plus).
• Experience with computerized POS systems.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Other Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 10pounds; occasionally up to 35pounds and 50pounds.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with arms.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends (Saturday and Sunday), and holidays.

• Must successfully pass a background screening.

Total Rewards

Compensation: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive may be included.
