Job summary

Goodwill of Central North Carolina is hiring at our retail stores to engage donors and customers, perform donation processing, and support store operations with a positive, can-do attitude.

This on-site position starts at $13 per hour, with quarterly performance bonuses. Part-time and full-time schedules are available, including evenings and weekends. We provide health benefits, PTO, holidays, a 401(k) with company match, and training to get you started.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old. Training will be on-the-job. No experience required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and fellow employees, and able to read and write legibly.
• Must be able to work without close supervision. Dependability and honesty are a must!
• Ability to work 100% of scheduled hours onsite.
• Must have a positive, can-do attitude and adhere to GICNC’s dress code.
• Tenth-grade education is required. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to follow instructions and discriminate between specific items.
• Adhere to GICNC’s safety policies, including safely handling heavy objects.
• Medium lifting (25 – 50lbs) is required. Stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, standing, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing, carrying, walking, lifting, occasional climbing, good eyesight, and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Sort, price, stage, and recycle donations according to policy and guidelines.

• Assist truck drivers and transportation team with loading / unloading stock into company devices.
• Assist team members in other areas of the store as needed to meet store goals (hello BONUS check!)

Pay Range & Schedule:

This position is hourly, non-exempt and starts at $13 / hour plus quarterly performance-based bonuses.

• Must be able to adhere to our attendance policy. We’re a retail environment with retail hours, which can include nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Most of our stores are open Monday - Saturday 10AM - 8PM & Sunday 1PM - 6PM, so no late night shifts!
• Part-time positions are up to 28 hours per week (can include weekends and evenings).
• Full-time positions are based on a 40-hour work week and open availability is required (includes weekends and evenings).
