Job summary

Hometown Hardware is seeking a retail team member who will assist customers, stock shelves, and maintain attractive displays in our Etowah, TN store. Responsibilities include processing merchandise, updating price tags, and helping with loading purchases for customers.

Summary

Inventories, stores, prices, loads, cleans, and restocks merchandise in retail store by performing the following duties; must deal directly with customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following; other duties may be assigned:

Takes inventory or examines merchandise to identify items to be replenished; receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking invoice against items received; attaches or changes price tags on shelves and/or merchandise; stocks storage areas and displays with new or transferred merchandise; sets up advertising signs and displays merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to attract customers and promote sales; cleans display cases, shelves, and aisles; packs customer purchases in bags or cartons; transports purchases to specified vehicle for customer.

Responsibilities

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight and measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Must be able to master basic computer peripheral devices including but not limited to: keyboard, touch screens, mouse pointers, and scanners.
