Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking a Stock Clerk – Grocery to stock, rotate, receive deliveries, and perform related duties in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include lifting up to 50 pounds, operating cash register systems, providing courteous service, and maintaining a clean work area. This role requires adherence to safety policies and teamwork with fellow associates.

STOCK CLERK – Grocery

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Rotates merchandise as necessary according to product expiration dates.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.)
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform job functions.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintains a clean and neat work area.
• Unloads groceries from customers shopping cart
• Ability to operate cashier equipment/systems
• Carries or carts groceries to customer’s car.
• Properly bags or packages customers purchases using correct size and quantity of bags.
• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
• Performs all essential job functions with limited supervision.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.
• Other duties as assigned.
