Job summary

Freshwater Curated Goods in downtown Augusta, GA is seeking a Retail Associate for an in-person, full-time role averaging 20 hours per week. Pay is $13–$14 per hour. You will greet customers, share product stories, process purchases, and keep the shop beautifully presented.

Occasional production tasks and event support are included, with Saturday availability required. Ideal candidates have prior retail experience, are self-starting, detail-oriented, and reliable.

Freshwater Curated Goods is growing — and our flagship storefront in downtown Augusta is the heart of it all. We’re looking for a motivated, self-starting Retail Associate who is excited not only to work in the shop, but be a part of our team! This role is ideal for someone with retail experience (preferred) who loves creating a welcoming in-store experience, takes pride in a beautifully run shop, and is always looking for ways to improve systems, displays, and the overall customer experience. In addition to daily retail tasks, this position will occasionally assist our production team with small, hands-on projects as needed. Location: In person - downtown Augusta, GA Schedule: Full-time, 20 +/- hours/week | Availability on Saturdays is required Pay: $13-$14/hour

Responsibilities

• Customer Experience & Shopkeeping
  • Greet customers warmly and create a friendly, approachable environment
  • Learn and share the story behind our products to help customers find the perfect gift or treat for themselves
  • Inform customers of current promotions, collections, and shop policies
  • Process purchases and handle returns accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and beautifully styled storefront (sweeping, dusting, restocking, tidying, watering plants, etc.)
  • Help set up, refresh, and improve in-store displays and window merchandising — and proactively suggest ideas
  • Assist with in-store events, including setup, breakdown, customer engagement, merchandising touch-ups, and overall event support
• Inventory, Operations & Growth
  • Accept incoming deliveries and packages
  • Tag, label, and input new inventory into our system
  • Restock shelves and monitor inventory levels on the floor
  • Perform opening and closing duties as scheduled
  • Take initiative in noticing what the shop needs: organization projects, restocking, signage, display tweaks, etc.
  • Show leadership potential with strong communication, reliability, and a desire to grow
• Shipping, Fulfillment & Production Support
  • Ensure orders go out in a timely, accurate, and nicely presented manner
  • Assist the production team with small tasks as needed (stickering, assembling, packaging, prepping materials, etc.)
  • Be willing to jump in wherever help is needed — we’re a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck crew

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience preferred (boutique or customer-facing experience is a plus)
• Self-starter who can see what needs to be done and take action without constant direction
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Positive, friendly attitude and great communication skills with both customers and teammates
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
• Reliable and punctual — Saturday availability is required
• 18+ years old
