Overview

Join to apply for the Retail Service Team Member - Eventss role at Michaels Stores.

Store - ATL-JOHN'S CREEK, GA.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests.
Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find what they’re looking for; ensure a fast and friendly checkout experience.
Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.
Plan and coordinate multiple events at once (children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events).
Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity; demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects; perform face painting and other activities where appropriate.
Facilitate and implement party add-ons (goody bags, balloons, etc.) to company standards; communicate events with clients and store team members.
Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed; adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
Create backup or emergency plans; ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events; uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.

Customer Experience

Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions; provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
Engage customers on rewards programs and Private Label Credit Cards; complete enrollments.
Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey; assist with Omni-channel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POG) processes; complete merchandise recovery and maintenance; perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
Support shrink and safety programs; adhere to SOPs and Company policies and standards.
Interact respectfully, model positive behavior, and contribute to the store’s vision and values.
Cross-trained in Custom Framing selling and production; participate in daily store cleanliness activities (e.g., sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, restroom maintenance).

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Energetic, enthusiastic personality with the ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests and coworkers.
Excellent people skills; experience working with children and children’s events.
Strong communication (written, verbal, nonverbal) and listening skills; organizational and creative problem-solving abilities.
Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Ability to remain standing for long periods; move throughout the store; regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
Public retail store setting with climate-controlled public areas; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work for tasks like unloading trucks.
Work hours may include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
