Job summary

andyfrain is seeking a Part-Time Retail Security Guard at The Mall at Short Hills in Short Hills, NJ to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees and vendors.

The role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism and a customer-first mindset, with Thursday through Saturday 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. Pay is $20.86/hour, plus weekly pay, flexible scheduling and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–6 months security or life-safety experience preferred.
• State Guard license required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas or fixed post to monitor activity.
• Control access points and manage pedestrian/vehicle traffic.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, or safety concerns.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents.
• Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems.
• Complete daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times.
• Follow post orders, policies, and safety procedures.
• Inspect property for safety risks.
• Support loss prevention and suggest safety improvements.
• Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors.
• Provide directions and maintain presence on-site.
