RETAIL SALES SUPERVISOR

Position Summary:

The Retail Sales Supervisor will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of sales associates in a retail environment. Primary goals will be to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the sales floor, drive sales, and provide excellent customer service.

The supervisor is also responsible for training, coaching, and motivating the sales team to achieve sales targets.

The supervisor must have a strong working knowledge of retail sales, its functions, and all positions related to it. The supervisor will always attempt to settle guest concerns in the best manner possible, involving management when necessary.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The Retail Supervisor is responsible for the following duties:

• Train staff in delivering exceptional customer service.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Greet everyone and proactively approach customers to support their shopping experience.
• Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management.
• Communicate customer requests to Management.
• Resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Be aware of casino promotions and property amenities to communicate with guests.
• Create an inclusive store environment where everyone (employees & customers) feels welcome, safe, and treated with respect.
• Ensure the completion and the entering of the monthly inventory.
• Delegate tasks to all employees to ensure they are contributing to the timely completion of the inventory.
• Respond to problem situations with professionalism.
• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and POS registers with little to no errors.
• Assist in analyzing sales data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions for new and existing staff.
• Keep the team updated on product knowledge and sales techniques.
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Provide regular updates to management on team performance.
• Think critically about solving problems and approach challenges with agility.
• Maintain awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions and advertisements.
• Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
• Assist in processing and replenishing/ rotating merchandise and participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
• Ensure employees are checking dates on inventory and that merchandise is being rotated on a first in first out basis.
• Enter new products into the system while keeping up with price changes and making sure all products are accurately priced and that shelf tags are correct.
• Ensure that deliveries are checked and promptly put away.
• Clean and maintain displays/store to ensure a safe store environment.
• Order products needed for retail sales store.
• Communication needs to vendors.
• Assist with scheduling.
• Assist with performance reviews.
• Assist in providing progressive discipline when needed.
• Train and supervise team members on the filling, cleaning and monies collected from vending machines.
• Ensure the arcade is clean.

• Maintain flexible availability - including nights, weekends, holidays, covering shifts when short staffed, and in emergency/ sick/ vacation situations/ call‑ins.
• Maintain adequate staffing levels.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Implement all operational controls effectively and according to procedures to minimize store losses.
• Coordinate with relevant departments for stock replenishment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma/ GED.
• One year of prior retail sales, cashier, or customer-focused experience
• Must be able to greet the public in a professional, friendly, courteous manner to maintain excellent public relations.
• Must have a sincere interest in serving guests.
• Must have math skills, ability to run POS system, computer knowledge.
• Must be a highly motivated team player and self-starter with a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years' retail sales experience or one year's experience as a supervisor.
• Prior retail sales, cashier, or customer-focused experience.
• Strong customer service and public relations skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of retail operations and inventory management.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and other retail technology.
• Strong math and computer skills.
