Job summary

KeHE Distributors is seeking a part-time Retail Stocker in the Baton Rouge area to stock, rotate and merchandise KeHE products for assigned customers. You will manage pallets, organize stock, and create attractive displays while adhering to company standards and safety guidelines.

This role requires 1–3 years in grocery, a HS diploma, a valid driver’s license with clean MVR, and willingness to travel up to 75% and work Saturdays. Benefits begin on day 1, including 401(k) and PTO.

Primary Responsibilities

The Retail Stocker is responsible for stocking, rotating, and merchandising KeHE supplied product for assigned customers within a region. To be successful in this role, the Retail Stocker must understand the movement of products and prioritization of temp zones. A Retail Stocker should be knowledgeable of stores’ products and provide customers with useful information to improve shopping experience and strengthen the overall relationship with customer. As with all KeHE employees, individuals must perform all duties in alignment with KeHE’s mission, vision and core values.

This position is part-time, Saturdays only in and around Baton Rouge, LA.

Essential Functions

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Stock, rotate, and merchandise KeHE supplied products for assigned customers within the region.
• Remove products from pallets and sort products on carts by using aisle numbers on pick labels.
• Maintain productivity of pre-defined number of cases per hour.
• Work on various projects as assigned including but not limited to: new item cut-in, category resets, “best-buy” and code checks, shelf and product maintenance, and emergency deliveries.
• Assist with product placement and positioning on store shelves. Create attractive displays for goods.
• Utilization of platform/application in checking in and out of location, as well as tracking of assigned projects and completion.
• Maintain good attendance, safe work practices and maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
• Working backstock, building new displays, and new item placement as necessary.
• Other duties and special assignments as assigned by management.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently without direct on-site supervision
• Keep a clean and organized workspace
• Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy merchandise
• Break down pallets using minimal space
• Ability to follow information in a schematic format
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills
• Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with retail team and store personnel
• Comfortable performing multi-faceted tasks in conjunction with day-to-day activities

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma required
• Valid driver’s license & clean MVR required.
• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in grocery industry
• Microsoft Outlook experience required
• Ability and willingness to work Saturdays
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Ability to be exposed to cold or warm temperatures for work in a walk-in cooler, refrigerated warehouse, and/or freezer and outdoors. Must be able to carry 20 pounds, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, climb, bend, and walk for the entire shift. May need to drive between stores as per assignment. The noise level in the work environments is low to high.
