American Furniture Rental seeks a Retail Associate for a hybrid store role in Secaucus, NJ. You will provide customer service, assist with purchases, and help position furniture on the sales floor for showroom display and staging.

Responsibilities include executing sales, maintaining product knowledge, handling cash/POS transactions, and ensuring a clean, organized store. You may assist with pickup/delivery and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Description:The Retail Hybrid position employee is responsible for providing customer service, sales assistance, and overseeing the general operations of the retail store. In this role, the employee is also responsible for assisting the retail team by moving furniture onto and off the sales floor as directed.Responsibilities:· Provide quality customer service, including assistance with purchases, suggestive selling, and product information.· Assist customers by maintaining knowledge of store products and pricing.· Operate the sales machine and the cash register accurately, and return appropriate change as needed.· Always maintain a neat and orderly store to include dusting and vacuuming.· Prepare and maintain product displays on the retail sales floor as requested.· Report any theft or suspected theft by customers or employees to management immediately.· Provide support in other areas of business operations as requested. Build and maintain an understanding of the stores products and price information to assist with stock levels in the assigned location.· Remove sold product from the sales floor and prepare for customer pickup and delivery.· Pull product for delivery and move to staging area for loading.· Pull product for pick up, move to staging area and assist the customer as directed.· Utilize proper material handling procedures to reduce injury and/or product damage.· Move stock as directed by the store manager to merchandise the sales floor.· Assemble or disassemble any furniture as directed by the store manager or assistant store manager.· Maintain a neat and orderly sales floor and stock area including cleaning and touching up product.· Maintain and clean product on the salesfloor.· Maintain and clean restrooms, interior and exterior common areas as directed.· Report any theft or suspected theft by customers or employees to management immediately.ADDITIONAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:· Good oral communication skills, as well as written and reading.· Customer Service oriented and excels in customer relations.· Demonstrated professionalism and attention to detail and time management skills.· Available to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.Education:· High School Diploma of equivalent.· Languages: English and Spanish languages preferable, verbal and written.Experience:· Experience preferred, not mandatory, training available.Physical and mental qualifications:· The job requires standing and walking for extended periods.· The ability to perform simple tasks, rational thinking, and numerical calculations is required.· This job requires rearranging the furniture on the sales floor.· Ability to lift up to 75 poundsDiversity ensures the success of our careers, and our lives.
