Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to serve as a primary point of contact for customers, set and maintain plan‑o‑grams, stock merchandise, and operate the cash register to complete purchases.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, building displays, stocking and facing shelves, assisting customers, and supporting store cleanliness and organization. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with focus on teamwork and accurate cash handling.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills and numeric literacy.
• IBM cash register proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise in the sales area.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons; store or stock on shelves.
• Build and maintain merchandise displays; rotate stock.
• Restock recovered merchandise and keep shelves neat.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases and give change.
• Bag merchandise and collect payment; assist with ordering using scanners as needed.
• Help keep front end clean and assist with sidewalk displays when needed.
