Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers, assist in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

The role includes unloading trucks, stocking shelves, greeting customers, operating the POS system, handling payments, and helping with merchandising displays and sidewalk setups when necessary. High school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store or stock on the sales floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays; face shelves.
• Assist customers in locating products and inquiries.
• Operate cash register and bag purchases; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness including front end, restrooms, and stockroom.
