Job summary

Dollar General in New Jersey is seeking a proactive Store Associate to serve customers, set and maintain plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and support daily store operations. You will greet shoppers, operate the cash register, bag purchases, assist with merchandise ordering using handheld scanners, build displays, and ensure shelves are clean and neatly presented while following safety policies.

Qualifications

Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks.
Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move directly to sales floor.
Build merchandise displays.
Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves.
Restock recovered merchandise.
Assist customers by locating merchandise.
Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase; bag merchandise.
Collect payment from customer and make change.
Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners, as needed.
Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
