Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to be the primary point of contact for customers, help set and maintain plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and support profitability and teamwork while protecting assets. You will unload trucks, build displays, stock shelves, assist customers, operate the cash register, and help with merchandise ordering using handheld scanners.

Greet customers, process payments, bag purchases, and contribute to a clean, safe, fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise on shelves.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Build and rotate displays; stock and face shelves.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, bag items, and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep store clean, greet customers, and follow policies.
