Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a store associate to be the primary point of contact for customers, help set and maintain planograms, stock merchandise, and support profitability and teamwork while protecting company assets.

You will unload trucks, build displays, stock and rotate shelves, assist customers, operate the cash register, bag purchases, and help with simple ordering using handheld scanners in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag items; collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end, set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
