Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a retail team member to act as the point of contact for customers, stock shelves, and assist with plan-o-gram implementation. You will unload trucks, build displays, and ensure merchandise is rotated and clean in a fast paced store environment.

Responsibilities include operating the cash register, handling payments, and assisting customers with locating items. A high school diploma is preferred; weekend and evening shifts may be required, with equal opportunity

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise in the store.
• Follow processes to receive, open, and unpack cartons; stock in back room or on sales floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays; face product on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register, itemize purchases, and bag items; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Keep front end clean and help with sidewalk displays when required.
• Greet customers and comply with company policies.
