Job summary

Palmetto Moon in Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager to support the Store Sales Manager in driving sales and ensuring outstanding customer service. This role is non-exempt and paid hourly, with responsibilities across sales, operations, and team leadership.

You will lead by example on customer engagement, product knowledge, and coaching, while handling staffing, training, and visual merchandising to meet store goals and company standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership experience in retail.
• Motivation and delegation skills; hold team accountable.
• Confident, proactive and willing to take on challenges.
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as needed.
• Strong verbal communication and clarity in information.
• Decision-making and problem-solving for customer service.
• Ability to read reporting and learn POS system with training.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Sales Manager in achieving sales goals and objectives.
• Perform MOD shifts to monitor and motivate the team.
• Engage customers with product knowledge to drive sales.
• Monitor labor and adjust to meet plan or business needs.
• Understand KPIs and how they impact daily/weekly results.
• Provide exceptional customer service and coach the team.
• Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding of new staff.
• Training and performance management per company guidelines.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and product knowledge.
