Job summary

Journeys is a teen retail leader offering footwear and apparel with a dynamic in-store experience in Champaign. This Sales Lead role supports store management in daily operations, coaching associates, and achieving sales targets while upholding company standards.

The position requires prior retail experience, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting, and willingness to learn. Evening and weekend shifts are required, with potential for growth and internal promotion.

Qualifications

• Prior retail sales experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment.
• Willingness to learn.
• Completion of all training programs leading up to Sales Lead position or equivalent training.
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
• Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Age requirements for part-time employment may vary based on state.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance.
• Assist in training and developing a successful sales team.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing all company policies and practices.
• Perform all opening and closing duties according to company policy.
• Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations in store management’s absence.
• Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices in store management’s absence.
• Effectively communicate all store needs to store management.
• Complete bank deposits.
• Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities promptly.
• Complete all required training.
• Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers.
• Resolve customer issues effectively.
• Understand the Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team.
